It puts emphasis on spinal and pelvic alignment, breathing, and developing a strong core or center, and improving coordination and balance. Pilates' system allows for different exercises to be modified in range of difficulty from beginning to advanced.  All classes are taught with a consistent ethos, in as safe and effective way so that everyone can enjoy a great practice. I only hold small classes with a maximum of 10 people so that corrections on posture and core connection can be given to everyone.  Level 1 class emphasizes the fundamental techniques of Pilates while going through various exercises in a gentle but also challenging and fun way. The course begins gently as the core needs to be experienced, felt and understood, before moving to stronger and more challenging movements (level 2 & 3). More difficult exercises can be practiced safely and effectively as the group progresses.   Pilates will help you with correcting and improving your posture and to coordinate movement and breathing. The course is designed to give you core techniques that can be used in any area of your life where your back might be at risk and in need of support and thus save yourself pain and injuries. Please note: This is not a rehabilitation class, it is a fitness pilates class and not geared to any special population. This level does not include the skills/information required for Pre Natal clients.
